For us, being sustainable means that we are always aware of new developments and continue to evaluate our actions. We learn from the past, but also from new insights that ensure that we can do our part to keep the world liveable in the future. We are committed to becoming as clean and green as possible. Our commitment and efforts to become a more sustainable company never stop. Every day we want to improve. And we do.
To this end, we adhere to five important principles:
GREENING OUR INGREDIENTS
We strive to make our formulations greener. This will result in less 'accumulation' and that will help us to relieve the planet a little more. We therefore choose superior product formulas with the best combination of the best technical and natural ingredients. Out of respect for the hair and our planet, our products do not contain sulphates, parabens, ammonia, petrochemicals and oxidants. Instead, we add natural ingredients to our formulas, such as avocado oil, cotton oil and wheat protein, each of which has its own added value. We continuously check our product formulas to see if improvements are possible.
IMPROVING THE SUSTAINABILITY OF OUR PACKAGING
We are continuously looking for more sustainable packaging to ensure that the ratio between recyclable, biodegradable packaging and aesthetics is nicely balanced. We aim to ship all our orders in boxes made from recycled materials and are working hard to make this a reality Our PostNL delivery service delivers all packages 100% CO2 neutral and is one of the most sustainable delivery services in the world In the shipping box we make a call to recycle with us We have reduced the size of our shipping boxes to reduce waste and increase efficiency With the introduction of our liter bottles of shampoo and conditioner, we also ensure less waste and more efficiency
REDUCE OUR CO2 FOOTPRINT
We actively work with our suppliers to reduce our CO2 footprint. Our products are now largely vegan and by 2025 all products will be 100% vegan. In our own studio and office we are 100% CO2 neutral and we use solar energy to achieve this. We pursue an active policy with our suppliers to reduce the use of water and waste The transition from electricity to new energy sources in our distribution center and factory is in full swing and will be completed in 2024 We focus on local collaborations so that less transport is required and thus our CO2 footprint is reduced Our transport is 100% CO2 neutral Excess energy in the office will be stored and reused from 2025
ATTENTION TO ANIMAL WELFARE
We dream of a world in which the interests of animals are naturally taken into account in people's thoughts and actions. It is up to us to restore the balance; the balance between economy and nature. We are absolutely against animal testing. You can therefore rest assured that all our ingredients are obtained without animal testing and that we only work with suppliers with the same philosophy We live as animal-friendly as possible, are almost all vegetarian and give a lot of love to our pets We encourage animal-friendly entrepreneurship by donating to the Dutch animal protection organization
GIVING BACK LOVE TO OUR PLANET
The planet is good to us and we are grateful for what the planet gives us. That is why we give something back to our planet with love. It is up to us to restore the balance. The balance between economy and nature. Between people and the environment.
For every product sold, we plant 1 tree in an Eden Projects rainforest, thus ensuring that we give the planet more oxygen and help restore the balance between humanity and nature.
A little more about Eden. Eden is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring forests and ecosystems where local people help plant trees and protect forests from logging. Eden has already planted 700 million trees! In addition, there are more than 10,000 passionate people who work on the Reforestation Project. This is mainly done in the poorest areas of the world and these people receive a fair wage in exchange for their contribution. Fortunately, these people do not have to cut down wood for their income, which also reduces logging in these areas. In addition, the replanting of trees is growing exponentially (and fortunately), because Eden expects to have replanted at least 2.25 trillion trees by the end of 2023.
We think it is fantastic that we can contribute in this way to help protect the earth, our source of life. This not only has a positive effect on the ecosystem, but also on the local population who can contribute in this way and achieve economic progress.
