Being completely yourself - In conversation with Dewi from The Insiders

Helemaal jezelf kunnen zijn - In gesprek met Dewi van The Insiders

Andy from The Insiders: So nice that I can do an interview myself today! And with Dewi, our product developer at The Insiders. We are going to talk about what it means to be completely yourself and to be completely in your power. Welcome dear Dewi! Can you tell us what it means to you to really be yourself?

Dewi (Product Development at The Insiders): Thank you Andy! For me, being truly yourself is about authenticity. It means not being afraid to make your own choices and follow your own path, regardless of what others think. I think for a long time, many women, myself included, have felt like we had to live up to certain expectations. But when you discover your own power and allow yourself to be who you truly are, there is an enormous liberation. It’s about embracing all of the parts of you: your strength, your vulnerability, your ambitions, and your doubts.

Andy: That sounds wonderful and also liberating. How do you see that reflected in your work at The Insiders?

Dewi: Product development is about listening to our customers, understanding their needs, and creating products that really add value. But it’s also a creative process, where I can bring my own perspective and expertise. I believe that all of our products help women feel good in their own bodies. It’s not just about the outside, it’s also about how you feel inside. If we can help women feel powerful and confident, then we’re doing our job right.

Andy: You touch on an important point. How have you learned to embrace your own power better?

Dewi: I think it starts with self-acceptance. We need to stop comparing ourselves to others. Everyone has a unique journey to walk, and that’s what makes us special. I also find that it was important to give myself the space to grow and learn. I was so hard on myself so often, but it’s okay to make mistakes and have insecurities. That’s what makes us human.

I also believe in the importance of daily rituals, such as a good skin and hair routine, to give yourself the care and attention you deserve. For me, that is a little moment of self-love.

Andy: That's so beautifully said. Which brings me to something we hear a lot from our clients: how important a hair routine can be to feeling confident. What's your take on that?

Dewi: Absolutely! I really see a hair routine as a moment to take a moment to reflect on yourself. It’s more than just washing or styling your hair; it’s a moment of self-care. By taking time for your hair every day – whether that’s a nourishing treatment or just a few minutes to style your hair – you give yourself that little boost of confidence. You feel refreshed, cared for and that radiates into how you approach the rest of your day.

At The Insiders we develop products that help you make that routine easy and effective, so you can take care of your hair without the hassle. It’s about integrating those moments of self-care into your daily life.

Andy: Do you have a personal favorite hair routine that you follow every day?

Dewi: Definitely! My routine is simple yet effective. I start with a gentle cleanse to purify my hair without stripping it of natural oils. Then I use a nourishing conditioner that hydrates my hair. And depending on how I want to wear my hair that day, I use a styling product that suits my texture and look. The most important thing for me is that it doesn’t have to take hours, but that I do take some time for myself. It’s a moment of relaxation before I start my day.

Andy: That sounds like a great balance of care and convenience. What would you say to women who are looking for ways to be more empowered?

Dewi: My advice is to find small moments in your daily routine where you put yourself at the center. Whether that’s your hair routine, or something else that helps you connect with yourself, take that time. It’s about giving yourself the space to be who you are, without judgment. Everyone is unique, and your power lies in embracing that uniqueness.

I would also say don't be afraid to experiment, both in your style and in your life. Sometimes we find strength in unexpected places, if we allow ourselves to go off the beaten path.

Andy: What an inspiring message, Dewi. Thank you for sharing your beautiful insights and experiences. I think everyone can draw strength from this. Do you have any final thoughts you would like to share with us?

Dewi: I would say the most important thing is to embrace yourself as you are. You are enough, exactly as you are right now. And when we can embrace that, then we are truly in our power.

Andy: Thank you, Dewi, for this beautiful conversation! I think your words will inspire many people.
