HOW TO: MAKE BEACH HAIR

HOW TO: BEACH HAIR MAKEN

Nothing is as sultry and gorgeous as casual beach hair. Especially in the summer – even when the beach is miles away. Whatever beach look you choose, it all starts with the perfect base. José van Dalfsen, co-creator of The Insiders, gives her best tips: this is how to create beach hair.

BEACH HAIR CREATION: THE PERFECT BASE

Creating beach hair starts in the shower, by washing your hair. Use our Walk On The Beach Seaweed Shampoo , rinse thoroughly and combine for the best result with our Walk On The Beach Conditioner . Both products contain lavender and orange oil, which moisturize both your hair and scalp. This makes creating beautiful beach hair a lot easier. What's next? We have a few beachy looks for you.

PERFECT BEACH WAVES WITHOUT HEAT

For the ultimate undone Summer look, the more texture, the better. Our protein-rich Supernatural Thickening Cream can be used in wet or dry hair, and works as a kind of filler for your hair. This gives you lots of body and volume. Distribute the cream over towel-dried hair and blow-dry your hair almost dry (for beach waves without heat, simply blow-dry on the cold setting). Then make lots of small buns that you can carefully secure with a slide. Leave this for fifteen minutes and then take them out. The result: perfect beach waves! Still not enough effect? Distribute a little 2nd Day Matte Paste in your hands and knead into your hair. This product ensures that your hair does not look freshly washed; after all, it often looks best on the second day after washing.

CASUAL BEACHY BRAID

You can create beach hair and then wear it loose. But you can also work it into a messy braid. For strength, hold and volume, start again with our Supernatural Thickening Cream. Apply to towel-dried hair and then spray a little Dip In The Ocean Beach Spray from roots to ends. Let your hair air dry or blow-dry lightly with the Professional Ionic Hairdryer. Then braid your hair loosely. For example, go for a regular braid, braid-in, fishtail braid or multiple braids; the sky is the limit. And here's the trick: for an edgy, grungy festival finish, knead a little Woodstock Wax Spray into the ends. You can even easily twist dreadlocks with it, for that ultimate boho style.

BEACH HAIR WITH ACCESSORIES

This summer, hair accessories are a huge trend. And it can't be crazy enough. Think colorful headbands, scarves and hair clips with pearls and glitter. Experiment with them and see what works best for you. Want an extra twist? Then make one or two braids in your neck and braid a colorful string with it, like a kind of dread. Summery perfection.
