When do you feel most confident about your hair?
Nahla: When I have a good outfit on, a good full face of makeup and hair products that do what I want and work well, that's when I feel most confident about my hair.
Iman: Feeling good about myself, being in a good environment and having healthy hair contribute to that. For me, these things together make me feel the most confident.

Have you always been happy with the way your hair looks?
Nahla: No. Until I was 12/13, I didn’t know I had curls. Everyone around me, including myself, was always using a flat iron. So I didn’t know any better than to let my curls disappear instead of embracing and enhancing them. When I was about 14, I started to delve more into taking care of my hair. By watching YouTube videos and experimenting a lot, I learned a lot about my hair and how to take care of it.
Iman: No. I used to be very insecure about my hair. My hair was very damaged at that time, I didn't like it, but I also didn't know what to do with it. I had never heard of hair types and I didn't know which products to use. Fortunately, my hair makes me happy almost all the time now.
At what point did you fall in love with your hair?
Nahla: My first love used to make me very insecure about my hair. He thought I didn't have curls and made me feel like I wasn't good enough with my curls. When we broke up, I started to love myself and my curls.
Iman: Last summer. That's when I really started taking care of my hair and changing my clothing style. I also grew my hair out and really figured out what products work for me. From that moment on I fell in love with my hair.
How long did it take you to embrace your hair?
Nahla: I am still working on this process. I still regularly use the flat iron, I really have a love-hate relationship with it. The key to success is that you have to spend a lot of time and attention on your hair. But I do love the process and the end result. I am starting to embrace my natural self more and more.
Iman: The process of embracing my hair started when I was about 8 years old. At that time, Instagram was already around and it made me have a negative self-image when looking at my own hair. The perfect picture on Instagram was very different from what I saw when I looked at myself in the mirror. I felt left out, and I still think we need to pay more attention to this topic online.

What do you like most about your hair?
Nahla: The best thing about my hair is that it has a lot of volume and is bouncy. But also that it is so versatile.
Iman: My hair is thick and has a lot of volume. I like that a lot, because you can do all sorts of things with it: from ponytails to braids, from curls to straightening. I especially like experimenting, I really enjoy that.
Who is your hair icon?
Nahla: Coral Bernard (@Coralbernard ) is really my hair icon. She has the same type of curl as me, so I really use her as an example. But I also just think she's super pretty.
Iman: Bella Hadid. Her hair looks are always amazing.

Who inspires you when it comes to hair?
Nahla: Jhené Aiko (@JhenéAiko) inspires me a lot. Not only because of her hair, but also because of the music she makes. Her music makes me feel loved, by myself but also by the outside world.
Iman: My family ultimately made sure that I knew how to take care of my hair and how to deal with it. Almost all of them have the same hair as me, so you can learn a lot from each other.
What advice would you give to someone who hasn't yet embraced their hair?
Nahla: Take it in small steps. The most important thing is that you have to embrace your natural hair more. For example, try to use the straightener less often, even if it is once a month or once a week less. You will get there, you just have to not rush it and accept that it may take some time.
Iman: Stay yourself and experiment a lot with your hair. Don't let Instagram or others hold you back. And don't give a fuck!
